Environmental Fate

The analyses performed under Environmental Fate can be designed to meet US EPA OPPTS 835 Series, OECD, SETAC, and JMAFF guidelines. All work is conducted in compliance with corresponding Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

These studies are usually conducted with radiolabeled compounds at controlled temperatures and light intensities, and with volatile trapping where applicable and specified in the corresponding guidelines. Reports include reaction rates, partition coefficients, mass balance and identification of degradates.

Experimental Study Descriptions   

  • Hydrolysis:  at various pH values and temperatures.

  • Photolysis:

  • 3 Suntest CPS+ Systems

  • Sterile buffer and/or natural waters

  • Quantum yield measurement (actinometry)

  • Soils.

  • Metabolism in Soils and Sediments:  aerobic, anaerobic, and aquatic.

  • Soil Sorption and Mobility:  adsorption/desorption and column leaching studies.

  • Soil volatility 

  • Tobacco Pyrolysis

  • Specialty designs to adapt to guidelines for chemicals with exceptional physical/chemical properties, such as hydrophobicity, volatility, or instability under normal test conitions.
